Together we make learning an adventure

Y1 History - Toys from the past

In Year 1 we have been learning about toys from the past. The children have been lucky enough to experience Meccano first hand, as one of our Governors, Mr Baum, brought a fantastic set in to show the children. Even though it is over 50 years old the children loved making things! Also, on Wednesday 17th January, we were visited by Penny Garner from Harborough Museum, bringing with her the Travelling Toy Box. Penny showed the children how toys have developed from basic natural objects to the sophisticated technology we have today. The children got to play with a huge range of Victorian toys and think about how they were made. A great time was had by all! Thank you to the FSA for funding the museum visit.
