We were absolutely blessed with the most glorious weather for our week in Edale. What a fantastic week we had. The children were on great form. We had lots of praise from the staff at the youth hostel who complimented the children on their behaviour, manners and the support they showed for one another. Tackling all the activities on offer, the children showed courage and a willingness to try new things. Activities ranged from orienteering, weaselling, crate stacking to abseiling. All activities were tackled with enthusiasm and a desire to achieve a personal goal. We were incredibly proud of all the children who came on the trip. A fun time was had by all.
1.00pm: We arrived at Edale at 11am after a very smooth journey. The children have all put their bags in their rooms and eaten their lunch. We are ready for our afternoon activities which are about to get underway. The children are very excited - just time for a quick game of ‘wink murder’ before we set off. Please do not worry if the messages are a little infrequent or delayed as the mobile signal is weak at Edale.
6.30pm: We've had a fun packed day, two groups have been wealsing enjoying views of Higger Tor, two groups have abseiled with all children having a go! Incredible! The final group have been crate stacking and orienteering.
Blessed with a clear sky and winter sun, we?ve enjoyed the stunning scenery of the Peak district. We've demolished a tasty tea and are currently in the process of wrapping up for our night hike!
9.05pm: All back safe and sound and extremely tired from a fabulous night hike . We've had a gaze at star constellations and wondered at the sounds of nocturnal animals! We're now washing amd brushing our teeth ready for bed. Goodnight all.
11.00am: All children had a good English breakfast and are having a busy day of activities. They were all excited and raring to go this morning!
7.30pm: All the children have had an amazing day. Lots of fun abseiling, weaselling, crate stacking and orienteering. The instructors have all commented on how polite, friendly and wonderful all the children have been. We've all had a delicious dinner and we are now starting to pack and getting ready for our pyjama party. We'll all be sad to be leaving Edale but, looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
9.15pm: What a fun packed last night! Finishing off our quiz after chocolate and chocolate cake. Mmmmm! We're all exhausted from our action packed day. All that exercise will mean we?ll sleep well tonight Goodnight.
8.45am: Morning al l- we're all full on a fantastic Friday breakfast and are currently packing up ready for our departure to Fleckney. We've had so much fun and can't wait to share it with you all.
