On Monday 1st April Emma, Frankie, Robson and Charlie from Year 6 joined children from 6 other local schools at the Brocks Hill Education Centre, to learn about the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. These goals were formally agreed by 193 country leaders and consist of 17 goals which are expected to shape worldwide political policy between 2015 and 2030. The day consisted of: becoming familiar with the goals; engaging critically with each aim; thinking creatively as to how these could be communicated to a wider audience; and working collaboratively to explore how we can all be active global citizens and make the world a fairer place in which to live. The 7 schools are now busy working together to create a complete set of ‘Global Goals’ posters to share with the rest of the school community. Well done children!
