Our Church School
Our Christian School Vision
Fleckney Church of England Primary School is a place where kindness, compassion and respect are at the heart of everything we do. We aspire for everyone to thrive, flourish, and achieve our full potential in every aspect of school life. Through our Christian values, we nurture self-confidence, resilience and a sense of community so that we have an understanding of our place and ourselves in the wider world.
'Let your light shine'
Matthew 5:16
Collective Worship
At the heart of our school life is Collective Worship – a daily, valued time where we gather to reflect, celebrate, and grow together in our shared values and vision. Whether meeting as a whole school or in phases, this special time provides a calm, purposeful space for children and staff to connect, be inspired, and let their light shine.
Children look forward to Collective Worship and engage with enthusiasm and deep understanding. They are passionate and knowledgeable about the themes we explore, the values we uphold, and our school’s vision of being the best we can be.
Worship is carefully planned across the week and follows our Collective Worship timetable, updated termly (see Summer 2025 timetable below). Each session is designed to be inclusive, reflective, and rooted in Christian values, while also encouraging personal growth and spiritual development.
Every half-term, our school newsletter shares highlights from Collective Worship, celebrating what we’ve been learning, discussing, and reflecting on together. Click here to view newsletters
Collective Worship truly is the beating heart of our school – a time that nurtures community, fosters faith, and inspires everyone to shine. Our school's collective worship policy can be found at the bottom of this page.
School Christian Values
Fleckney C of E Primary School is a Church of England school where children, inspired by our Christian Values, learn together to be the best that they can be. Through compassion, respect, responsibility, community, fairness and aspiration they learn that they are unique and valued and to celebrate the value and uniqueness of others. Our school aims to create an environment where each child can grow academically, socially, spiritually and emotionally.
Our Values and their meanings
All stakeholders in our school community (children, teaching staff, support staff, governors and parents) have had an input into our school values. The values have been carefully chosen to represent our school with the aim to support children in being good citizens.
Compassion
KS1 – Compassion is taking care of others
KS2 – Compassion is to understand and care about people and appreciate their differences.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Romans 12:15
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
Respect
KS1 – Respect is treating everyone and everything well.
KS2 – Respect means you care about people’s thoughts, feelings and emotions. Respect means you care for our world and everything in it.
Have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Peter 3:8
Give everyone what you owe them. If you owe them any kind of tax, then pay it. Show respect to those you should respect and show honour to those you should honour. Romans 13:7
Responsibility
KS1 – Responsibility is looking after people, belongings and your actions.
KS2 – Responsibility is to show that you are reliable and do everything with care.
We should be ready to try and try again Colossians 3:23
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people, if we want to be great, we will serve others, rather than want to be served. Mark 9:35
Jesus said, “Whoever wants to be first must place himself last of all and be the servant of all.”
Community
KS1 – Community is taking care of Fleckney.
KS2 – Community means to help and support other people wherever they are.
Two people are better than one. When two people work together, they get more work done. If one person falls, the other person can reach out to help. But those who are alone when they fall have no one to help them.
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I amongst them. Matthew 18:20
Fairness
KS1 – Fairness is being honest, sharing and taking turns
KS2 – Fairness is about making sure that everyone is treated with the kindness and respect they deserve.
There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28
Do to others as you would have them do to you. Luke 6:13
Aspiration
KS1 – Aspiration is wishing to be something
KS2 – Aspiration is having a strong desire to work hard to achieve your hopes and dreams.
"For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, plans to prosper you plans to give you hope and a future". Jeremiah 29:11
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
