School Meals, Pupil Premium & Cool milk
The vast majority of pupils remain in school over lunchtime and nutritious school meals with an excellent choice are cooked on the premises. Meals are free for all children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 (years 1&2) and cost £2.75 per day (£13.75 per week) for all children in Key Stage 2 (years 3,4,5 &6).
If your child is late, dinner should be ordered at the school office by 10 a.m., otherwise the child should bring a packed lunch.
Parents are welcome to try out a school dinner or discuss any special menus with our cook. We have a rota system for entry into the dining hall, although the children from the Reception Unit go first.

Dinner Money Payments. When you wish to top up your child’s dinner money account, you will need to enter the amount you wish to pay via the shop section. If you do not enter an amount, the system will assume zero and so the account will not be topped up.
A vegetarian menu is always available and special diets can be catered for. If you have a dietary request, please see the form at the bottom of this page for information on how you should apply for this.
Applying for free school meals and Pupil premium
Your child might be eligible if you access:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Universal Credit, provided you have an annual net earned income not exceeding £7,400
Currently, pupils in reception, year 1 and year 2 are entitled to a free school meal thanks to a different government funding scheme known as universal infant free school meals (UIFSM). You shouldn’t confuse UIFSM with free school meals and the pupil premium.
If your child is in reception, year 1 or year 2 and is eligible for free school meals according to the criteria above, you should still register because we’ll receive the extra pupil premium funding.
To apply you will need to register on the government website:

Cool Milk and Milk for under 5's
Free milk is available for all children aged under five in school, funded by the UK government.
In our school, this milk is provided by Cool Milk, the UK’s leading school milk supplier. When your child joins us in Foundation stage, we will register your child for their free school milk on your behalf by providing Cool Milk with your child’s name and date of birth as well as your name and address.
Shortly before your child turns five, you will be offered the opportunity to pay a subsidised rate for your child to continue to receive milk. All information handled by the Cool Milk group is processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. All personal information is securely stored on Cool Milk’s UK servers, and is never passed on to third parties without your permission.
Please let us know if you would prefer us not to register your child for free school milk.
We ask all parents to register on cool milk. Here you can manage your child/rens milk directly, as this is not managed by the school.
